Houzz’s 2012 ‘Best Of Remodeling’ Award

First-Ever Survey & Analysis of More than 1.2 Million Members Reveals Top-Rated Professionals and Current Design Trends from Across the Country

Dallas, Texas – March 21, 2012 – Superior Plan Design of Dallas Texas has been awarded “Best Of Remodeling” 2012 by Houzz, the leading online platform for residential remodeling and design. The 16 year old residential design firm was chosen by the more than 1.2 million registered members of the Houzz community.

The Houzz “Best Of Remodeling” award for 2012 is given in two categories: Customer Satisfaction and Design. Customer Satisfaction award winners are based on homeowner members who rated their experience working with remodeling professionals in 12 categories ranging from architects, and interior designers to contractors and other residential remodeling professionals. Design award winners’ work was the most popular among the 1.2 million members, also known as “Houzzers,” who saved more than 16.5 million professional images to their personal ideabooks via the Houzz site and iPad/iPhone app.

Athens Texas Design In Progress

This concept is for a rebuild of an existing vacation property in Athens Texas. The beautiful wooded lot had some tight width constraints. The house also needed ample room for parking for the frequent guests. The attached illustration is where the project currently sits.

This is a design that is currently on my table. This home will be tucked away on an acreage site in the Fairview Texas area. The client asked for a single level home with a style that maximizes the use of natural materials, and accentuates horizontal lines. This is the first shot at the exterior elevation. I think I may try a rendition of it with dormers.

I finally got a chance to head down to the ElDorado Parkway area of McKinney to take a look at the completion of a home there. This was a Country French single level home designed on a very tight lot. I will dig up the floor plan artwork and post it later.

Elevation Of A New Barn Design in North Texas

This is a screen shot of the front elevation of a barn project that was completed last year. The question I have is, is it a barn, or a residence? There was an entire 2 thousand square foot second level residence tucked under the roof line of this structure. The idea for this is to use it as a temporary residence until the main house is built on the property at a later date.
